Amanda Ogryzek’s UCSI Kite Project
9th Grade UCSI Kite Project – A talking Frog teacher observes the group building the kite and video tapes it, and plays the tape for his frog class. The Kite project is featured on the UCSI (Utica Center for Science and Industry) website Download Video
This project was a lot of work, but it was a ton of fun to do. The Utica Center for Science and Industry incorporated this project into all of our classes and we broke off into 4 or 5 person teams to work on the project. We designed the kite, we built the kite and then we flew the kite. Part of the assignment was to document the entire process, which in turn gave me plenty of footage for my Frog project.

UCSI is an excellent school as it lets us create our own projects from scratch and totally come up with our own ideas and put them to the test. It really did not matter if our kites flew to the heavens or not it was the experience of getting a team together and coming up with something and working on it until we had a finished product.
